privnote Privnote let you sen notes that will self-destruct themselves after being read. You write your note, get a link and send it to the person you want to read the notes via mail. You can get a notification mail after the person reads the note. It’s also available in many languages.

I love this collage tool! ShapeCollage is an automatic shape photo collage maker. It gets your pictures from different photo sharing or URL of the pictures and creates a photo collage that you can use on your blog, web pages or you can send them to people or create your own scrap blog with them. PicsViewr is a free service that turns Flickr photos into stunning slide shows. It has numerous templates that showcase your photos. If you like this tool, you can have a look at Splashr as well.

I’ve learnt Acepela TV from Ana Maria Menesez who has sent me an text to speech thank you card with it. You choose your game from flowers to bunnies, fish or birdies and you write your text and they speak it for you! It’s a cute and funny text to speech site.

Here comes the third part of my series. I hope you enjoy all the new favourites.

MybotI love all the Bots, they are the beginning of the Web 3.0. and Morpheus is the best bot I have ever found. It can speak, it can ask and answer questions, it can write back to your comments. It’s a great tool for reading, listening, speaking and writing. Just try it, you’ll love it!

scrapblog_logo_lowres[1]ScrapBlogis a great way to share photos and videos on a creative outlet. You choose from colourful and cute backgrounds, speech bubbles, frames. You can delete or edit anything you want to your scrapblog. You add your pictures, text or videos and you can make as many pages as you like.

Zimmertwins is my favourite digital storytelling tool ever! It’s cute and super easy to create cartoons. You have three characters. Eva, Edgard and 13 the Cat. There are many choices for the setting, emotions and actions. You drag and drop them and create your own movie. Please, watch this Zimmertwins video.

Vocaroois a site where you can record your voice. You can send the link or you can get the updated HTML code and embed it to your sites. There is no limit on message length.

 

bombay-tv-25092 BombayTVis a site where you can make your own subtitled Bollywood films. You choose your short movie and you create the subtitles and send it to others.  You can also record your voice instead of writing the subtitles. I had great fun playing with it, I’m sure you and your students will do too! There is also Classik TV where you can put different movies together with music effects and FuteBolTv where you write subtitles for football matches.

Posterous lets us post thing online fast using email. You send an email to post@posterous.com  and they reply instantly with a new posterous blog. You can also attach any kind of media such as podcast, video or a file. They even resize your photos. They turn URLs to links. If you enter a Youtube  URL, they automatically turn it into a Youtube embedded video. It’s such a smart and easy way to post!

 

vozmeVozMe is a simple text to speech application. You write your text and choose male or female voice and you create your mp3. It’s a good activity to hear the correct pronunciation.

missMissUpload is a file hosting provider. You can host files, images, videos, audio and flash on the same place. It’s a great way to share files, to send large files. You don’t have to carry your USB stick with you.

ImageExchange is a website that lets you upload and share images with anyone you want. Yoı can upload single images or entire albums stored in zip files. It will be assigned into a website that you can send the links to others.

                                                                                                                                                                                                         tag_galaxy[1]If you are bored of searching Google images and if you want to find the picture you are looking for on Flickr, have a look at Tag Galaxy. It has a very interesting interface. You and your students can have great fun while searching photos with tags.

Here comes the second week of  “My Faves of the Week”  series. Here are my picks for this week.

bibme_org-logo Bibme is an automated bibliography generator. It finds information about your sources and formats the citations for you. This site can save you time while building your bibliography. It also allows you to search from a database of millions of entries to find your source.

mystckiesMyStickies is a web based application that lets you put a sticky note on any web page you want. You can find your sticky notes still there when you return back to the sites. You can modify the text of the notes or delete them or tag them, you can also see all your notes on one page. You can keep to-do lists and write reminders for yourself.

WideWord is a website that lets you collaborate on a word document with others. The format is easy and quick. You write your text to a format that you are familiar from your blogs. You send your friends/students/colleagues email addresses and it sends the invitation. You can add or remove people if you like. You can keep track of the changes and see the whole history and all the documents are private. It is similar to Writeboard.

glypho

Glypho is a great way to write and read novels. You can find many great ideas for novels or you can write your own to inspire others. It works his way: You write your story idea, other users give characters and plot ideas, different users write the first chapter and people select the best chapter by voting or reviewing. It sounds fun and there are a lot to read on this site.

WaxmailTL

If you are bored with writing emails, you can send your voice now!! You add the button of Waxmail to your outlook and when you need to send an email, you just press the record button and you record your voice. You can type any additional text and send it to the recipients. It’s that easy and fun. I like it!!

whatshouldireadnext

WhatShouldIreadNext is a website where you enter a book you like to see what you can read next. The site analyses the database of the readers’ favourite books to suggest your next book. Also, it has a sister website, ThisOneNext. It suggests you to CDs or DVDs to watch next by searching analysing other users’ preferences.

 SpokenText is a text to speech, audio converter. You can record PDFs, plain texts, ppts, web pages and convert them to speech automatically and listen to them anywhere you want!

Here comes the first part of my “Faves of the Week” series. In fact, this is totally Shelly Terrell’s idea. I should thank her =) She may want to write for one of the weeks. Shelly??

Here are my favourite web sites of this week:

screenjelly_free_screen_recorder Screenjelly is a free service that records your screen up to 3 minutes. You can record your voice as well and share it as a video with your friends on your social network. You don’t have to download anything to use it.  It is an easy way to share what is happening on your screen and share it with others. If you want to record more than 3 minutes, you’re welcome to use ScreenToaster.


longURLTinyURL is a super friendly tool, especially if you are using Twitter. You can shorten the longest link you can find ever into a tiny one. But you can’t tell where that shortened URL goes by just looking at it. There comes LongURL. You can easily learn the source link, where the link goes by using LongURL. (Here comes a list of shortening URL services, enjoy!)


ssI love the third party apps. of Twitter. You can have a look at my list here. Pockets is a new application that I’ve discovered today. Using it, you can leave voice messages to your friends on Twitter and they will be notified via @. Isn’t it super cool?


storybird-descriptionStoryBird is a lovely site for digital and collaborative storytelling that connects you with others.You can easily start your very first Storybook by just dragging pictures and, writing your own texts for the pages. When you finish it, you can watch it online and share it with the world. Also, you can create a collaborative story with others. You create your story and send the story to your friend to finish it. It’s a great way to publish your books. No doubt that my kids will love using this tool!!


tadaTada list is one of the easiest to do lists. You can create your own list and share it with others. You can check when you finish the things on your list, you can make a list for almost anything,people to call, homework to check, favourite quotes, links, songs, shopping list and share it with the world to keep them up to you!! It’s a great organizer.


14238 Odiogo converts webpages or blogs into high quality audio files by using text to speech technology to produce nearly human audio output. You can easily upload it to your Pc, ipod or Mp3 player, you can listen to it on your mobile phone. You don’t need to know programming to do use this service,you only need to promote the service on your site with a link to the Oidio enabled feed link.


10123 OneLook is a word and phrase search engine. It indexes hundreds of online dictionaries, encyclopedias and other reference sites. You write a word or a phrase and OneLook takes you to the definition or the translation of the word. By using this service, you can define words, find words or translate them into different languages. You can also have a look at ReverseDictionary which lets you describe a word and describe a word or a list of words that is related to it.

www.tagalag.comYou can use Tagalag to tag people, friends, colleagues and to creare contextual relationships. You can promote yourself and find other people that have the same interest as you.
